My Journey Into Metaphysical Ministry

I didn’t come to ministry through tradition. I came through a combination of personal reflection, life events, and spiritual awareness.

There was a time in my life when the beliefs I had inherited no longer fit, yet I hadn’t found language for what was replacing them. What I did know was that something meaningful was stirring inside me. I felt called to look deeper, to listen inwardly, and to trust a wisdom that didn’t come from doctrine, but from lived experience.

The first was my son’s wedding. Attending that ceremony, I felt a deep resonance — a sense that serving as a minister would allow me to bring joy, connection, and a feeling of oneness to others during meaningful life moments. It wasn’t just a role; it was an opportunity to share presence and service in a way that felt authentic and uplifting.

The second was a small, private family service at my mother’s gravesite. One family member arranged and organized the service, and another contributed something very loving and heartfelt. Everything was done with care and intention, but there was a slight disconnect between the family’s plan and the way the funeral director interpreted it. Experiencing that clarified for me that I could help families create meaningful, intimate ceremonies that honor their intentions, provide gentle guidance, and preserve the sacredness of the moment.

These experiences, combined with my spiritual reorientation, became the doorway into metaphysical ministry. They clarified for me that ministry is not just a title or a role — it is a practice of presence, service, and creating sacred space for others, whether in weddings, memorials, or other life passages.

What Is a Spiritual Modality?

A spiritual modality is the way a person experiences and relates to the sacred. It reflects how meaning, guidance, ethics, and connection are understood and lived — not only what one believes, but how one practices those beliefs in daily life.

My own spiritual modality is rooted in:

  • Nature as teacher and mirror

  • A felt sense of oneness and interconnection

  • Intuition as a form of inner guidance

  • Trust in something greater within me, especially when self-trust wavers

  • A guiding moral light that informs how I live, serve, and relate to others

This is how faith lives in me — not as rigid belief, but as presence, responsibility, and reverence for life.

Metaphysics as a Spiritual Path

Metaphysics is often misunderstood. It is not a rejection of religion, but a non-traditional spiritual approach to religion.

Metaphysical spirituality explores consciousness, meaning, energy, and purpose through direct experience rather than doctrine alone. It embraces practices such as meditation, intuition, Reiki, hypnosis, nature-based spirituality, and soul-level inquiry.

At its core, metaphysics is concerned with how we relate to the unseen dimensions of life — and how those relationships shape our ethics, healing, and capacity to serve.

An Important Clarification: Ministry and Religion

As someone in the process of registering with the Canadian International Metaphysical Ministry (CIMM), and with the intention of becoming a Minister authorized to solemnize marriages, it is important to be clear about a key distinction within metaphysical ministry.

Once a minister is registered through CIMM and licensed by the province to perform marriages, they are legally recognized as religious.

This does not imply a traditional, dogmatic, or denominational religion. It does, however, reflect spiritual authority grounded within a recognized religious framework.

Because of this recognition, CIMM Ministers are expected to uphold certain standards in how they describe and represent their work. Specifically, they do not advertise their ministry as non-religious, do not use terms such as secular or non-denominational, and do not promote ceremonies as outside a religious or spiritual context.

While it is entirely appropriate — and often preferable — to use spiritually oriented language rather than the word religion, it is not accurate to state that one is not religious when serving in this capacity.

Metaphysics is a form of religion — non-traditional and experiential in nature, yet rooted in spiritual responsibility and reverence.

Where My Ministry and My Work Meet

My journey into metaphysical ministry is not separate from the work I do through my healing practice. Hypnosis, Reiki, life purpose coaching, and intuitive guidance all exist within the realm of metaphysical science — the exploration of consciousness, transformation, and meaning.

Through my business, Let Go & Shine, I support people in reconnecting with inner wisdom, navigating spiritual transitions, and living with greater clarity and alignment. This work reflects the same values that guide my path toward formal ministry: integrity, presence, compassion, and reverence for the sacred.

A Living, Evolving Faith

My faith continues to evolve through meditation, time in nature, healing work, and deep listening. It is strengthened not by certainty, but by presence.

Metaphysical ministry allows me to serve from this place — not by telling others what to believe, but by honoring the sacred intelligence already alive within them.

This is the foundation of my path, my practice, and my intention as I continue toward formal registration and service within metaphysical ministry.
